OBJECTIVES

by Rene Robert last modified 2008-06-20 13:56

The objectives of the High-Level Dialogue on the EU Social Model in the Context of Globalization are:

▪ To enhance the constituents’ ability to anticipate and manage changes in the world of work in their home countries as a result of globalization by examining new trends in Europe and by sharing best practices among employer, government and worker representatives.

▪ To enable constituents to contribute to the development of practical national flexicurity policies that promote the values of decent work by increasing awareness and knowledge of this topic through an exchange between social partners, EU Member States, EC and ILO officials.

▪ To build consensus between constituents on the progress and outstanding issues towards modernizing European socio-economic policy (Lisbon Agenda) and the significance of these reforms on the future of work in Europe.

▪ To enable participants to strengthen national and community policies on socio-economic development by considering examples from non-European experiences and perceptions of the European Social Model, including from the perspective of the International Labour Organization’s Decent Work Agenda.
